Alexis Chateau Hires Feline Goodwill Ambassador

Atlanta, GA – Alexis Chateau PR, LLC recently hired an abandoned stray as its Goodwill Ambassador.

Shadow replaces former Office Cat, Smokey Chateau who tragically went missing on November 13, 2016. Founder and managing partner, Alexis Chateau, was away for the weekend on a business trip at the time of her disappearance.

Following our loss, the company altered its clientele focus to include non-profit organizations advocating for animal rights.

The Hunt

Alexis Chateau PR first began its search for a new Office Cat in mid-December, when Smokey still did not return to resume her position.

The company’s ad reportedly attracted many fine candidates from as far as a hundred miles away. However, ACPR declined these offers in hopes of finding a black feline.

Founder Alexis Chateau explains:

Black cats have the lowest adoption rates in shelters all around the US, and the highest kill-rates. We wanted to ensure at least one black cat escaped that fate, and hoped he might encourage other adopters to reconsider the shadow at the back of the cage.

Background

As a former stray, Shadow brings a lifetime of animal welfare experience to the table. The woman who fostered Shadow prior to his employment and adoption tells us:

Someone dropped him off on my doorstep. They must have known I was a volunteer. I think he may have been abused, but with love and patience, he’ll come out of his shell.

Due to his questionable past, Shadow was put on a month-long probation period. During this time, he transformed from a quiet, submissive, and timid kitten into a rambunctious scamp that gets into all sorts of trouble in the office and the home.

Climbing the Ranks

After watching him breeze through the probation period with flying colors, Chateau made the strategic decision to promote Shadow to Goodwill Ambassador. She is confident he will help the brand to network with animal rights organizations, especially non-profits.

Along with his networking responsibilities, Shadow works to improve morale, and to keep the office vermin-free. When asked about his new role in the firm, Shadow told us:

I’m honored to be a part of the Alexis Chateau PR team. There are so many animals who suffered as I did, but who have so much to offer to patient and loving owners if we get the chance. Thank you Alexis, for giving me mine.

Compensation

Shadow commands a whopping 3-figure salary, but the firm declines to disclose further details about his benefits. They are rumored to be indulgent, which is not surprising, considering the firm’s longtime affiliation with animal welfare.

While living in Jamaica, Chateau volunteered at Montego Bay Animal Haven. She is also a former writer and petitioner at Animal Petitions.

  1. What a wonderful idea! I love black cats: they’re so beautiful and yet so misunderstood. The house I’m currently living in comes with a black cat, which I’m happy about. She’s quite demanding though..

I also think you’re doing a great thing by supporting non-profits that work on animal welfare. I rather like animals, shocking though it might seem.

    1. Hey Josh! I’m glad you jumped from College Mate to come see us over here, too. College Mate is a product of AC PR. 🙂

That said, we absolutely adore black cats too. And like yours, our Shadow is one very demanding little puss. There isn’t a time of day he doesn’t want chin-scratches and belly rubs! So cool that your apartment came with a cat.

We really would love to see more animals (esp black cats) adopted for 2017! If you know any shelters or animal rights groups that could use our support, send them our way and we’ll see what we can work out for them 🙂

  3. Welcome greetings to the new office guard cat. And thank you for swinging by the “Ranch” and for the follow. We ❤︎ visitors, especially ones who are clearly pet advocates.

    1. Thank you! Please don’t call Shadow a guard cat. You’ll only feed his ego. He already thinks he’s a black panther in the making, stalking prey. 😂

If you’re ever interested in getting the social media or other PR work done by us for your company, let us know! Shadow will get right on it 🙂

  4. That’s such a nice story and I love that you have a soft spot for black cats. Being a cat guardian myself I can completely relate to the sentiment. I recently lost one of my cats, so I sympathise with the loss too.

    1. Thank you! We definitely love our Shadow and went out of our way to find him.

The shelter almost didn’t want to give him to us, because he wasn’t socialized and was semi-feral. But Alex has years of experience working with rescues and used to volunteer at a shelter. You should see him now. He’s such a lapcat!

We’re really sorry to hear about your cat. What happened?

We miss Smokey every day. Shadow is a great addition to the ACPR family, but there’s no replacing her..

      1. I hope smokey finds her way back home. Kiki got very ill after she developed cat asthma, we moved to a Villa outside the city and the dust didn’t suit her. I miss her everyday :/. She was unbelievably precious. We rescued a kitten not long after Kiki had died and called her Millie and I found out later that Millie in Urdu means “found” and it is also a feminine word. She was meant to be “found” by us.

It makes me so happy to hear/ read about people like you and Alex. You’re doing a wonderful thing honestly there should be more people like you. Such an inspiration 😊

      2. We hope Smokey does, too! There will always be a place for her here.

So sorry to hear about your kitty and the asthma. We’re learning more and more that animals are beginning to pick up “human” illnesses. But so happy you were able to rescue another four-legged friend. It truly does sound meant to be!

Alex’s love for animals have definitely infected us all, but we’re not complaining! It’s a good cause to rally behind. Animals can’t speak for themselves.
