Last weekend, America was stunned by the Orlando shooting, which claimed the lives of 49 victims, and injured scores of others. Sadly though, this wasn’t the only tragic shooting in Orlando that week.

Christina Grimmie Shot in Front of Fans

The previous Friday, a man opened fire on Christina Grimmie at a gathering with her fans. The young musician had been signing autographs, after performing at The Plaza Live theater.

Her brother, Marcus Grimmie, attacked the shooter, who then ended his own life with a fatal shot. Over a hundred people were at the gathering, and police believe that the brother’s quick actions saved a lot of lives that day.

Unfortunately, Christina Grimmie was not so lucky. She was rushed to the hospital, where she died from her wounds.

Police have identified the shooter as Kevin James Loibl. Investigators state that the attack was deliberate, and that Loibl drove to Orlando just to shoot the entertainer.

Christina’s Relationship with Justin Bieber

Christina first caught the public eye on YouTube, and went on to captivate an even larger audience on The Voice, where she finished in third place.

Christina befriended Justin and Selena while working on her music, and the two have opened up about their loss on social media.

Selena Gomez’s stepfather also managed the late singer’s music career.

The night after the shooting, Justin also made a powerful tribute to Christina on stage, struggling to keep back tears while he sang his hit “Purpose”.

Christina’s private funeral is scheduled for later this week, in New Jersey.
