Lady Gaga Banned from China?

China reportedly banned Lady Gaga following the singer’s meeting with Dalai Lama at the United States Conference of Mayors.

If rumours are true, this would not be the first time China banned musicians due to connections with the exiled monk. Other banned artists include Maroon 5, Bon Jovi, and Björk.

Chinese fans also attacked Lady Gaga’s Instagram with angry comments, after she posted pictures from her meeting with Dalai Lama. The Communist leadership in China view Dalai Lama as a political threat, due to a failed revolt against Beijing’s rule back in 1959.

Chinese officials declined to comment on the rumors surrounding the ban on Lady Gaga’s music.

However, Lady Gaga responded to the heat from Chinese fans with an Instagram post, asking people to be careful of where they point fingers, and to be wary of where they perceive evil.

Check out the other Instagram posts which started the controversy.

I will have to take Lady Gaga’s side. What she said was true. Although taking sides means I’m contributing to the division. But, her side is against division. 🙂

    1. That’s an interesting way to reason that out, and a good one. It seems the more famous a person becomes the more their actions are misconstrued and blown up to mean more than they are.

I am convinced that the cause of some evil is jealousy. 😃 Of course, that “A vs. B” is also a big culprit.

      2. We’re convinced jealousy is almost always the cause. It’s where greed comes from, and greed (perhaps more than money) is the root of all evil.

Indeed. It isn’t money per se but the greed for money. Some extremely wealthy people are not evil and they don’t cause evil deeds.
